I worked with Tom firstly as an Actor and since have witnessed him excel at his role as a Teacher of Motion Capture and screen, his passion & understanding of the medium is excellent and his skills as a facilitator are exceptional, his experience both creatively and academically make him a an ideal coach and on top of this he’s a thoroughly lovely person to be around.

Tom is one of the best facilitators I’ve come across. Beyond his knowledge regarding screen and mocap, it is his ability to communicate his ideas with clarity and accessibility. Tom is the definition of a modern pedagogue, entrusting his students to play and experiment and find their own way. His eye of movement on screen liberates the actor in identifying what is they are doing and the effects this has on character and on how the audience perceives them.

My students found Tom engaging, energising and informative. His expertise as a professional actor provided them with exercises, they can act on both immediately and long term in the rehearsal space. Furthermore, his lecture on acting, the industry and self-employment was truly invaluable, both demystifying it and providing clear step by step guidance on how to succeed. I wish I had received such advice when I was at University!

I have had the pleasure of working with Tom over the past year and a half, and I am constantly amazed by his skillset and ability to adapt. His demeanour when teaching provides a fun yet challenging environment for students, and he brings his vast experience into every instruction. He is a brilliant teacher, coach, actor, and most importantly a fantastic person. Couldn’t recommend him enough.

I had the pleasure of being directed by Tom in the Bitesize Breakfast Show up at the Edinburgh Fringe for The Pleasance. Tom brought a huge amount of energy and inventiveness to the room which made day to day rehearsals really enjoyable. He adjusted and honed my efforts delicately and with a great deal of respect; Tom was a colleague rather than a dictator. The story and truth of the piece was always his priority and his focus and commitment in that regard produced an excellent standard of work. I would jump at the chance to work with Tom again, I am very proud of what we did together.

Working with Tom as an actor, I felt entirely supported, encouraged and safe in Tom's hands. His calming focus, preparedness and clarity of vision really got the best performances out of us. The rehearsal room was a creative, collaborative and wonderfully fun experience. He is an asset to any production.
